Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video clip circulating on social media documented a number of people performing “The Scar”, which sparked a wide interaction.
The video showed people standing in a circular circle, with the mourner in the middle, who begins the scar, raises and lowers his voice, and moves his right arm, waving it repeatedly while it is bent, close to the right side of his head close to his ear, while his left hand closes his other ear.
And the video showed the people standing around it, chanting specific sounds, in a specific pattern, as a sign of welcoming the guests.
It is worth noting that the scar is a traditional art associated with the Shihuh tribe in the Emirates. It also expresses the celebrations of welcoming the sheikh of the tribe or upon the arrival of a distinguished visitor or guest, in popular weddings and national occasions and when eating at banquets is finished.
