West Virginia Men’s Soccer Earns 1-1 Tie Against Loyola (Md.) in Exciting Match

West Virginia Men’s Soccer played to a 1-1 tie once morest Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday evening at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

The scoring began at the 23:03 mark of the match when West Virginia took the lead with a goal scored on its own goal to the bottom left.

Loyola would respond with a goal at the 33:10 mark of the match when midfielder Giovanni Marquina scored to the top right with an assist from defender Thomas Gray and midfielder Tyler Tucker.

The two teams would be scoreless in the second half of the match to secure the tie.

West Virginia finished with 12 shots compared to Loyola’s four and finished with less fouls with four compared to 11 for Loyola.

Loyola goalie Dylan Van der Walt finished with three saves, while West Virginia goalie Jackson Lee finished with one.

West Virginia is still undefeated now at 8-0-3 and will be back in action on Sunday at Dick Dlesk Stadium when they play host to Sun Belt opponent JMU at 4 p.m.
