What is the income from Shonan, Kitakyushu, and Yokohama FM? Established transfer to Machino Shooto! It also affects Furuhashi Kougo | Football Tribe Japan

Breaking News: Machino Shooto’s Transfer Update – Potential Move to Birmingham City or Borussia MG

Japan national team forward Machino Shooto is facing an uncertain future as his team Holstein Kiel gets demoted to the second division. This development could significantly impact his transfer prospects in the summer of 2025.

Transfer Speculations Heat Up

According to recent reports, Machino Shooto is being courted by several top clubs, including Borussia MG, Brentford, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the latest buzz suggests that Birmingham City has emerged as an unexpected candidate for his transfer. This comes courtesy of journalist Neil Moxley, who is well-versed in the UK transfer market.

Moxley reported on June 24 that Borussia MG is already discussing the schedule for a medical check, while Premier League clubs are also working to acquire Machino. The transfer fee is expected to be 3.5 million euros (approximately 588 million yen).

Birmingham City’s Ambitious Plans

Birmingham City, which already includes midfielder Tomoki Iwata, is reportedly interested in acquiring more Japanese talent. The club is considering the possibility of signing midfielder Hiroya Fujimoto from Vissel Kobe and forward Kokugo Furuhashi from Stade Rennes. However, if Machino joins, it might affect their plans for Furuhashi.

Machino’s Career Milestones

Machino, currently 25 years old, has had a notable career. He played for Yokohama F. Marinos, Giravanz Kitakyushu, and Shonan Bellmare before transferring to Holstein Kiel in the summer of 2023. In the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, he scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 31 matches, making his first return to Japan since the FIFA World Cup in March 2025.

Solidarity Contributions

If Machino transfers to a non-German club permanently, his former clubs will receive solidarity contributions. According to Transfer Markt, each club will receive a share of the 3.5 million euros transfer fee. Shonan will get approximately 6.8 million yen, Kitakyushu 40,000 euros, and Yokohama FM about 3.4 million yen.
