What is the story of the “Egyptian flag” on Manchester United’s shirt?

Adidas announced the release of the third jersey for five teams: Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Juventus.

The shirt advertisement featured five legends representing the five clubs: Englishman Rio Ferdinand, German Bastian Schweinsteiger, Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, Frenchman Patrick Vieira and Italian Alessandro Del Piero.

Manchester United’s third shirt features the classic Adidas logo, which returns to the team’s shirt for the first time since the 1990s, and appears next to United’s famous “Red Devil” logo, which replaces the traditional logo.

But what sparked controversy among social media users was what appeared on the front of the shirt, as the tricolour flag of red, white and black appeared.

A large segment of the audience indicated in some comments on the “X” social media platform that the colors that appeared on the shirt refer to the Egyptian flag, which also includes the three colors, which are red, white and black, horizontally.

While others said it resembles the Syrian flag, and some said it resembles the Iraqi flag, etc.

But the truth is that this flag is one of the famous symbols used by Manchester United fans for several decades.

Manchester United confirms on its website that the tricolour flag – red, white and black – unites the club’s fans all over the world.
