What it means to transplant yourself to the country as a city dweller – literature

The first thing I notice is the two plastic boxes. They are transparent and round, closed at the top with a lid, and are placed on the counter right near the drawing table. Gingerbread, gummy cherries or sugar snakes are otherwise sold in such plastic containers. In Peter Hauenschild’s studio in the sixth district of Vienna, where I am visiting, there is nothing to snack on. In one box there are lots of small stubs of pastels and pencils, black, sharpened to the end. There are a lot of them and they make a clanging noise when Peter shakes the box because I asked what they were.
