For vaccinated travelers, some countries have reopened their borders and allow unrestricted entry into the territory. Update on the situation in the world with the journalist of France Télévisions, Gaël Giordana.
The United States has announced that from November, vaccinated travelers will once again be able to set foot on American soil. Several other countries in the world welcome travelers with conditions, often that of being vaccinated. In fact, the countries of the European Union, Mexico, the Dominican Republic or even Costa Rica are open without additional formality. It is necessary to present a PCR test of less than 72 hours to go to Canada, Russia, Algeria or Egypt.
For the unvaccinated, the situation is more complicated. “There are many restrictions. You have to prove a compelling reason in most cases, along with a test, even quarantine. For example, it is impossible to go to Norway or Canada.”, details Gaël Giordana. Borders remain closed in China, Australia, New Zealand, India, Vietnam, Argentina, Chile or Madagascar, whether or not travelers are vaccinated. For overseas territories, a PCR or antigen test and sometimes a 7 to 14 day self-isolation may be required, even for vaccinated people.
