White House: “Unacceptable” for Israel to close aid entry points to Gaza

Peloponnese Newsroom

The US calls Israel’s closure of two important entry points for humanitarian aid in Gaza, namely Rafah and Kerem Shalom, “unacceptable”, a White House spokesman said today.

“The closed crossing points must be reopened, it is unacceptable that they are closed,” said Karin Jean-Pierre, clarifying that the Kerem Shalom entry point is expected to reopen tomorrow, Wednesday. The US has been informed that the Kerem Shalom crossing in Gaza will reopen tomorrow, he noted.

The UN and other international aid agencies said the closure of the two crossings to southern Gaza – Rafah and Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom – has effectively cut off the Palestinian enclave from outside aid and few supplies inside. .
