During a recent appearance on the ‘Table for Two With Bruce Bozzi’ podcast, the 66-year-old actor’s wife, Rita Wilson, revealed that he turned down the role because he was in the process of divorce and that he felt happy to be single. “People probably don’t know this, but ‘Tom When Harry Met Sally’ was offered, and he said no because he was going through a divorce and was very happy he was no longer married,” he said. she explained.

She added that at that time her husband “mightn’t understand how someone going through a divorce might feel anything other than just happy.”

The 1989 romantic comedy, directed by Rob Reiner, starred Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, who played a character struggling to come to terms with the end of her marriage.
