Vienna – The cooperation between Wiener Stadtwerke and its house banks suffered to some extent as a result of the crisis surrounding Wien Energie’s futures transactions in the hot summer of 2022. A lack of willingness to cooperate was heard in circles of the municipal utility belonging to the Wiener Stadtwerke empire. There was also talk of a strained basis of trust in connection with the cause, as the futures transactions on the energy exchanges that got out of hand due to the energy price boom and price capers at the end of August 2022 are called.
