From the School of Non-commissioned Officers of the Carabineros the President Sebastián Piñera, in the company of the Undersecretary for Crime Prevention, Maria Jose Gomez, and the General Director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yanezannounced this morning the so-called “Anti-gangs, weapons and drug trafficking plan.”

The measure will aim to combat crimes of high social connotation – such as robberies with violence and robberies with intimidation – in 15 communes categorized as critical within the Metropolitan Region, specifically in 50 foci.

To carry out this objective The plan will include 400 police officers, 20 radio patrols, a helicopter and a drone that will reinforce police work. “The plan will strengthen and streamline police action, reducing the occurrence of crimes and, also, if they occur, increasing the likelihood of criminals being apprehended and face justice and assume the corresponding punishment ”, he explained.
