This is unprecedented and it is a direct consequence of the soaring energy prices that are hitting the European continent. For the first time, in 2022, renewable energies will not increase the state budget but will become a source of profit for public finances.

According to estimates published on Monday by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), renewable energies should bring in a total of 8.6 billion euros to the state budget between 2022 and 2023. For the sector, launched thanks to the massive support of the State and in particular thanks to its electricity purchase contracts at a fixed price over a very long period, it is a revolution.
