Winterthur train station: traces of blood and police exclusion zone – 33-year-old injured with a stabbing weapon

Pictures from a news scout show traces of blood at Winterthur train station early Monday morning. A police exclusion zone has been set up all around. “Around six o’clock there were many police officers on site.”

According to the Zurich cantonal police, there was an argument between two people shortly before four o’clock at the city gate at Winterthur main station. As a result, a stabbing weapon was used, in which case a 33-year-old Moroccan was moderately injured. He had to be taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The alleged perpetrator, a 21-year-old Algerian, was held back by the security service and arrested by the Winterthur city police.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Zurich cantonal police in cooperation with the public prosecutor’s office in Winterthur/Unterland. The police are looking for witnesses.
