Wirtschaftsbund ad Babler: Reducing working hours is overexploitation of the Austrian population

Vienna (OTS) “The left-left federal party chairman has once more used his appearance in the Ö1-Journal to spread his populist fairy tale hour. With a general reduction in working hours, five employees will be required to work 32 hours in the future, where today four employees work 40 hours. According to the Wirtschaftsbund Job Monitor, there is already a shortage of 220,000 workers. An aggravation of the situation not only presents the economy with insurmountable challenges. There is already an acute shortage of workers in the health sector, in care and childcare. With his demand, Babeler is risking our welfare state. Because a nurse, a doctor or a kindergarten teacher cannot squeeze their performance into fewer working hours. Praising more productive employees will not reduce the massive gap in employees in most fields of work,” says WB General Secretary Abg.z. No Kurt Egger.
