A strange law enacted in Iran is now the talk of the world. Women are no longer allowed to watch pizza and sandwich ads on television. There is also a suggestion that women should not wear leather gloves and that men should not be shown giving women tea in the workplace and women drinking red drinks.
According to the Iran Wire report, the government issued the directive after examining television channels and filmmakers. The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has asked the IRIB to ensure that footage and photos of women and men meet the new standards before releasing them. Head Aamir Hussain Shamshadi said. IRIB licenses home theaters and online streaming platforms.
