Workshop on Animal Welfare and Behavioral Management in Captivity: Conservation and Best Practices for Species Care

In the Cedro Hall of the Fruto Vivas Popular University of the Environment (Upafv), located on the sixth floor of the headquarters of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (Minec), in the center of the capital, the “Workshop of Animal Welfare, Environmental Enrichment and Behavioral Management of Fauna in Captivity».

The activity was directed by the specialist in animal welfare and behavioral management of the National Zoo of Cuba, René Rodríguez, as an initiative promoted by Minec and the National Foundation of Parks, Zoos, Zoos and Aquariums (Funpzza).

The induction is part of the provisions of the Education and Training Plan, in the context of the Strengthening of the Conservation Centers and ex situ Fauna of Venezuela. In the conferences, relevant topics were deepened for the optimal and updated practices that seek the conservation of species and their adaptation, well-being and behavioral management in the centers where they are found.

In this space, the optimal management of species and global trends regarding the care, conservation, adaptation, welfare and behavioral management of animals were addressed.
