Breaking: Marche Athletes Shine at Hyrox World Cup in Chicago
June 16, 2025 – The world of fitness and endurance is abuzz with excitement as athletes from the Marche region of Italy have made a stellar showing at the Hyrox World Cup in Chicago. This international competition, which combines race and high-intensity functional tests, has seen participants from all corners of the globe, and our very own Marche team has brought the region’s colors to the top.
Cecilia Calvigioni: From Urbisaglia to the World Stage
Cecilia Calvigioni, a young athlete from Urbisaglia, experienced her second Hyrox World Cup. After qualifying for the event with a third-place finish at the Milan stage in October 2024, Cecilia represented Italy in the 25-29 age category. Despite the pressure, she completed the race with a time of 1h20’51”, placing 112th in her category and 397th overall. “It was an honor to represent my country and my small town,” she said. “There is no defeat in the heart of those who fight.”
Francesca Vitellozzi and Alessandra Mancini: Achievements in the 40-49 Category
Francesca Vitellozzi from Sant’Elpidio a Mare and Alessandra Mancini from Civitanova competed in the 40-49 age category. They secured an impressive 216th place in their category and 50th overall. Both athletes are part of Hyrox Marche, the first regional community dedicated to this sport, which aims to share results, objectives, and activities related to Hyrox.
Notary and Commercial Join the Elite
Adding to the diversity of participants were Sergio Sanangelantoni and Danilo Antinori, a notary and a commercial respectively, who competed in the 60-69 age category. They placed 17th, showcasing the inclusivity and appeal of Hyrox across various age groups.
