Feng Sanshan (33), who represented China on the LPGA tour in the US, announced his retirement.

The US media Golf Channel reported on the 2nd (Korean time) that Feng Sansan has decided to retire from active duty and to help his national team. Feng Sanshan has not played on the LPGA Tour this season. Feng Sanshan’s last appearance was at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship last June.

Feng Sanshan became the first Chinese player to debut on the LPGA Tour in 2008. He won his first win at the Wegmans LPGA Championship, a major event in 2012, and has since added nine more, filling his 10th career streak. Of these, six championships were held in Asia. His professional victories are 23.

Feng Shanshan was not only the first Chinese player to win a major men’s and women’s golf tournament. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, she won a bronze medal in women’s golf. She held the position for 23 weeks in November 2017 when she reached World No. 1 in women’s golf. She was the first Chinese golfer to record all records, both men and women.

However, the global spread of COVID-19 has taken hold of Fengshanshan. He skipped the 2020 season due to COVID-19, and the 2021 season was limited to eight appearances. He announced his intention to retire from active duty in a situation where it was virtually his retirement. Feng Sanshan plans to focus on his national team, which he has been coaching since December last year.
