Airports Council International data released the list of world’s busiest airports. Delhi Airport also made it to the list. This is the first time that an Indian airport has made it to this list. ( Busiest airports in the world 2022 )
As of 2022, Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport handled a total of 59 million domestic and international passengers. Before the 2019 covid wave, Delhi airport was ranked 17th. This rank has now risen to nine. Mumbai is the second busiest airport in India. 38 million passengers use the airport. In 2019, the number of people who used Mumbai airport was 47 million.
The top four on the list are located in the United States. Atlanta’s #1 airport handles 94 million passengers. Dallas-Fort Worth is in second place with 73 million passengers. Denver is third and Chicago is fourth.
Dubai is in fifth place. Dubai Airport is used by 66 million passengers. Sixth is Los Angeles, seventh is Istanbul and eighth is London Heathrow. Tenth place belongs to Paris.
