WrestleMania 42 Ticket Sales: Lagging Behind Last Year’s Numbers

by Luis Mendoza - Sport Editor

Las Vegas – Ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, WWE’s flagship event, are currently trailing behind the pace set last year, according to recent reports. Despite a Valentine’s Day weekend sale offering discounted prices, demand has remained sluggish, raising concerns about overall attendance projections for the two-night spectacular at Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19.

The slowdown in sales comes as WWE aims to build momentum heading into what is traditionally its most lucrative period. While higher ticket prices are still expected to result in substantial revenue, the current figures suggest a potential dip in overall attendance compared to WrestleMania 41, which also took place at Allegiant Stadium.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reported by Dave Meltzer, ticket sales are “actually worse than we had last week.” The report detailed that a price reduction implemented over Valentine’s Day weekend, from February 13 to February 16, failed to significantly boost sales, with “zero movement at the lower prices.” As of February 20, 2026, the event is at 35,690 tickets distributed for the April 18 show and 36,372 for April 19, representing a total shortfall of 17,252 tickets sold and comped, or a 19.3 percent decrease compared to the same point in the sales cycle last year.

Currently, the lowest available ticket price for Saturday, April 18, is $264, while Sunday, April 19, tickets start at $276, according to available listings. Despite the lower-than-expected sales volume, WWE anticipates that WrestleMania 42 will still generate significant revenue due to the higher price points. One source close to the company, as quoted by Meltzer, acknowledged the situation, stating, “The audience is there. Are they inclined to pay ten gazillion dollars for tickets?”

WrestleMania 41 Set a High Bar

Last year’s WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium drew a total of 113,412 attendees across both nights, generating a remarkable $66,074,558 in revenue. WrestlingNews.co reports that if current sales trends continue, WrestleMania 42 could attract approximately 51,000 fans per night.

Valentine’s Day Sale Fails to Ignite Demand

In an attempt to stimulate ticket sales, Allegiant Stadium and WWE offered a 25 percent discount on WrestleMania 42 tickets over Valentine’s Day weekend, as reported by Yahoo Sports. However, this promotional effort proved ineffective in reversing the downward trend. The sale ran from February 13 through February 16, but did not translate into a noticeable increase in ticket purchases.

Internal Discussions and Marketing Adjustments

WWE held a multi-department meeting on February 11 to address the sluggish ticket sales, according to reports. While there are currently no plans to implement a permanent reduction in ticket prices, officials are exploring new marketing strategies to boost demand. Factors contributing to the slowdown include the event being held at the same venue – Allegiant Stadium – for the second consecutive year and a reported 65 percent increase in the price of the cheapest tickets compared to WrestleMania 41, as noted in multiple reports including NoDQ.com.

The current situation presents a challenge for WWE as it seeks to maintain the momentum of its premier event. The company will likely focus on enhancing the event’s overall appeal through compelling match announcements and increased promotional efforts in the coming weeks. The next key checkpoint will be the announcement of additional matches and potential appearances by major stars, which could influence ticket sales and attendance figures.
