The Wydad steering committee appointed, this Monday, January 1, 2024, a “successor” to its president Said Naciri, currently being prosecuted in a state of detention in the so-called “Malian” affair. Members of the Wydad Casablanca steering committee, and the various presidents of the club’s sections, met at the Mohamed Benjelloun Complex to discuss recent events.
It was decided that Abdelmajid Bernaki, vice-president of Said Naciri, would succeed him, following the regulations of the sports association.
He will now be responsible for the administrative, financial and sporting aspects relating to the club “while waiting for the general meetings of the association to be held”, explains a press release from the Reds.
Club officials insisted on the need for understanding and continuing to move forward, normally, so that the club continues to play leading roles.
Saïd Naciri is, as a reminder, being prosecuted in a state of detention in a case of international drug trafficking, forgery and use of forgery, money laundering and abuse of power.
