Yellen said she did not want the U.S.-led and Chinese-led elements to develop into a “bipolar” global system, but she said the Russian invasion of Ukraine marked an important moment when countries needed to decide where they stood. “Whether it’s peace and security or economic prosperity, the future of our international order is at a critical juncture”.
Yellen said, “China has confirmed a special relationship with Russia,” and “I fervently hope that China can use this relationship to have a positive impact and help end this war.”
