Maria Chiara Tilocca, a resident of Tissi, Sardinia, has been awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Leadership for International Relations, specializing in “Made in Italy,” according to a recent announcement by the Italian-American Foundation.
The scholarship, awarded as part of the “American Youth Award,” recognizes outstanding Italian university students who demonstrate dedication and achievement. Tilocca received the award during a formal ceremony held at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome. The award provides full funding for the Master’s program.
Prior to her studies, Tilocca completed a three-month training period at the Italian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand, where she focused on economic and political monitoring, event planning, and assisting the diplomatic mission and ambassador.
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is currently offering scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year to both foreign students and Italians residing abroad (IRE), with applications due May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM Italian time. These scholarships are applicable to courses held within Italy. Eligible programs include Master’s degrees, higher education in the arts, music, and dance, doctoral degrees, research projects, advanced Italian language and culture courses, Bachelor’s degrees, and single-cycle Master’s programs – with specific opportunities for Italians living abroad.
Applicants must submit their applications through the “Study in Italy” portal. The Italian Cultural Institute has confirmed that the scholarship announcement and a list of eligible countries are available on the Study In Italy website.
