A 19-year-old young man from Hasselt was placed under arrest warrant by the investigating judge for having sexually assaulted two minors during a youth camp in Louvain, the Louvain prosecutor’s office said on Thursday, confirming information from the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
The camp was organized during the All Saints holidays and once it ended, a complaint was filed with the Leuven police for inappropriate behavior by one of the instructors. The man in question was interviewed on Monday by the investigating judge and placed under arrest warrant. “We can confirm that a judicial investigation is underway into the sexual assault of two children aged four“, indicated the spokesperson for the prosecution Ellen Durie. The accused will appear before the council chamber on Friday.
