Yser Basin Water Level Update: Limited Impact of Heavy Rains on Saturday – Aerial Photos Measure Extent of Flooding

2023-11-20 11:20:46

Heavy rains on Saturday had a limited effect on the water level in the Yser basin, affected by significant flooding in recent days. The water level is expected to drop below the alert threshold near Fintele (Lo-Reninge) on Sunday, according to Waterinfo, the Flemish government’s hydrology website. Showers are expected once more for Monday.

The aircraft of the Institute of Natural Sciences, frequently used for coast guard tasks, has taken aerial photos in recent days which make it possible to measure the extent of the flooding.
