Zach Ertz Cleared to Return to Football: Arizona Cardinals’ Tight End Resumes Activities After Injury

2023-08-14 15:46:12

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz has been given the green light to fully resume football activities, a source told ESPN.

Ertz suffered anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament injuries in the first quarter of Week 10 last season once morest the Los Angeles Rams and had undergone surgery.

Ertz said at the end of July that the last step before his return to football would be a return to play test. He recently posted a hook on his Instagram story, without context.

The NFL Network reported the news first.

The next step for Ertz would be to have his name removed from the roster of players who are physically unfit to perform. He can then return to training. Ertz admitted it wouldn’t be realistic for him to be ready for Week 1, when the Cardinals take on the Washington Commanders to kick off the season.

It now seems like an achievable goal.

Ertz had 406 yards and four touchdowns last season before his injury.
