Zeki Amdouni has scored his first goal for Burnley! The icing on the cake, the Genevan scored the only goal in the Clarets’ 1-0 victory at Nottingham in the second round of the English League Cup.
It was therefore on the lawn of the legendary City Ground, home of Nottingham Forest, that Amdouni opened his counter during his third appearance with Burnley.
A timely goal
Entering the game in the 78th minute, the 22-year-old striker appeared at the 2nd post in stoppage time to transform a service from Josh Brownhill into “gold”. His success allows the Clarets to qualify for the rest of the competition.
This first achievement is all the better as it comes regarding ten days before the next meeting of the Swiss team, expected in Pristina on September 9 to face Kosovo in qualifying for Euro 2024.
