French President Emmanuel Macron has changed his position since he declared in June 2022 that humiliation of Russia is unacceptable. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“In the end, it was Macron who paved the way for the supply of tanks, and he also supported the application of Ukraine to join the EU. I think it was a real signal,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview Le Figaro in response to the words of journalists who reminded him of Kyiv’s reaction to the words of Emmanuel Macron.
In June 2022, Emmanuel Macron said it was important not to humiliate Russia. In his opinion, this was necessary in order to find a diplomatic solution following the end of hostilities.
