BRUSSELS (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Brussels on Wednesday to participate in a meeting with NATO defense ministers to ask for more support from Kiev in its fight once morest Russia.
The United States hosts the contact group summit on Ukraine to seek more weapons and ammunition for the war-torn country. NATO allies and partners are waiting to learn in more detail what kind of military equipment kyiv needs.
Following the meeting, the 31 allies and Ukraine will participate in the first NATO-Ukraine Council at this level. The forum was formally established in July as part of efforts to bring Kiev closer to the group and allows the military alliance and Ukrainian authorities to discuss common interests and concerns.
