HoYoverse is gearing up to launch Version 2.7, “Champions Never Fall to the Past,” for its urban fantasy action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, on March 24. The update centers around an unprecedented Hollow Champion competition hosted by TOPS, promising a thrilling experience for players as they witness – and participate in – the battle for glory. The new version introduces two new playable characters, Nangong Yu and Cissia, alongside themed events and updates to existing game modes.
The Hollow Champion competition is set to sweep across New Eridu, drawing excitement from both the city center and the Outer Ring. Players will compete for high-stakes rewards, including the rare Porcelloy W-Engine and the prestige of victory. The scale of the tournament has attracted familiar allies like the Cunning Hares and the Sons of Calydon, as well as unexpected participants, including the Public Security’s Metropolitan Order Division. Rumors suggest even former members of Calydon’s Sweepers will join the fray.

New Agents Enter the Arena
Among the new contenders is Cissia, an S-Rank Electric Attack agent from the Metropolitan Order Division. Her unique combat style revolves around accumulating “Venom” stacks, which deal Electric damage and temporarily increase her CRIT Rate. Cissia can generate these stacks through her EX Special Attack and unleash bursts of damage with her Basic Attack: Serpent’s Kiss as they accumulate.
Joining Cissia is Nangong Yu, the captain and lead dancer of the Angels of Delusion. As an S-Rank Ether Stun Agent, Nangong Yu enhances her team’s Anomaly Buildup Rate against stunned enemies. She automatically regenerates Downbeat during combat, further boosted by her squad inflicting Anomaly on enemies. This allows her to unleash powerful charged attacks and activate Ether Veil: Delusion Reprise, boosting the entire squad’s Attack. Players who collect all members of the Angels of Delusion will unlock an exclusive faction wallpaper. Returning to the roster are S-Rank Ice Rupture Agent Yidhari and Electric Attack Agent Seed.
Events and Updates Beyond the Competition
Beyond the competitive scene, Zenless Zone Zero players can enjoy themed activities at the Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant in Lumina Square. Players can assist Blaze with her latest troubles while participating in a playful hot pot-themed event. A special mission from HSOS 6 challenges players to complete a relay-style combat using three two-member squads. The Simulated Battle Trial has also been updated with new enemy lineups and bonus mechanics, allowing players to compete for leaderboard positions and earn rewards like Polychromes, a namecard, and exclusive titles.
