Member since 1999, in the federal parliament and the Brussels parliament, senator, Zoé Genot sat on the left wing of Ecolo. She fought to bring more social justice to Belgium and spent her political time defending human rights. For the record, she left the municipal council of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode and left the municipal council last February.

In 2019, in the middle of the electoral campaign, she was at the origin of a controversy relating to the distribution of a leaflet deemed communitarian on the Laeken market. This leaflet displayed the parties’ positions regarding religious freedoms in Brussels. Ecolo recalled that he was for the authorization of slaughter without stunning as part of religious rites in Brussels. Charged by his own party, the candidate had to apologize via social networks.

”I am very enthusiastic regarding joining the management of Cessoc, following the selection process which has just closed. My experience in consensus building and negotiation will be useful to me in my new role. If today I wish to withdraw from political life, I have many good memories, meetings, struggles and fascinating discussions. A new, committed and determined generation is in place and I am delighted,” explains Zoé Genot via a press release.
