Australian sports fans are set to have a recent boxing option as Zuffa Boxing events will now be available in pubs, clubs, and bars across the country. Adrenalen Sport, a platform dedicated to broadcasting sports in commercial venues, has secured the rights to distribute the action through a partnership with US media giant Paramount.
The deal expands Zuffa Boxing’s reach following Paramount’s acquisition of exclusive rights in the US, Canada, and Latin America last September, as reported by TV Tonight. The Australian agreement builds on that momentum, bringing a new boxing league to a wider audience.
Adrenalen Sport will start distributing Zuffa Boxing events starting with Z04 on March 9, featuring Australian boxer Jai Opetaia against American Brandon Glanton. The platform will carry all 12 boxing cards scheduled for 2026, with plans for expansion in subsequent years. This addition complements Adrenalen Sport’s existing portfolio of sports rights, including the A-Leagues, AFC Women’s Asian Cup, and various European soccer competitions.
“For venues, this means guaranteed foot traffic from a crossover audience that’s already primed to watch,” said Mark Sturdy, founder and chief executive of Adrenalen, in a statement. “We’re not just distributing content; we’re giving venue operators the competitive edge. Early adopters will capture the UFC crossover audience although competitors scramble to catch up. The venues that act now will own this audience.”
Zuffa Boxing: A New Force in the Sport
Zuffa Boxing, a venture launched by TKO in collaboration with Saudi Arabian events company Sela and the General Entertainment Authority, aims to reshape the boxing landscape. Spearheaded by Dana White, chair of UFC – which recently secured a $7.7 billion rights deal with Paramount – the promotion debuted on September 13 with a high-profile fight between Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
That inaugural event drew a massive global audience of 41 million viewers on Netflix, according to the streaming service. Netflix described the fight as the “most-viewed men’s championship boxing match” of the 21st century, with an average minute audience (AMA) of 36.6 million and a peak of 24 million concurrent livestreams in the US alone – comparable to the viewership of recent NFL season openers.
Joe Hand Promotions estimated an additional 500,000 viewers watched in commercial establishments, further highlighting the event’s reach. Beyond the Paramount deal, Zuffa Boxing has likewise secured a rights agreement with Begin, a United Arab Emirates-based streaming platform, for exclusive coverage in Pakistan and non-exclusive coverage in Bangladesh for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Adrenalen Sport Expands its Venue Network
Launched in December, Adrenalen Group operates through three divisions – Adrenalen Sport, Adrenalen Vision, and Adrenalen Media – offering a comprehensive suite of sports entertainment solutions for Australian venues. This includes live sports distribution, in-venue LED screen technology, and advertising opportunities. The addition of Zuffa Boxing to its lineup strengthens Adrenalen Sport’s position as a key provider of sports content for commercial spaces.
The partnership with Paramount and the distribution through Adrenalen Sport signals a strategic move to capitalize on the growing interest in boxing and the demand for live sports content in Australian venues. The availability of Zuffa Boxing events is expected to draw a significant crossover audience, particularly those already engaged with UFC and other combat sports.
As Zuffa Boxing continues to develop its schedule and roster of fighters, Adrenalen Sport will be instrumental in bringing the action to fans across Australia. The success of this partnership will likely depend on the promotion’s ability to deliver compelling matchups and build a loyal following in the Australian market.
What comes next for Zuffa Boxing in Australia will be closely watched by both fans and industry observers. The March 9 event featuring Jai Opetaia will be a key test of the promotion’s appeal and the effectiveness of Adrenalen Sport’s distribution network.
