[백브리핑AI] Suspicion of ‘violation of accounting standards’… Doosan Energy: “I cannot agree with the Financial Supervisory Service’s comments”

[인포스탁데일리=김영택 기자] According to the financial sector, it was confirmed that the Financial Supervisory Service is conducting an audit following determining that Doosan Energy violated accounting standards in relation to the construction of a thermal power plant contracted in India at the end of 2016.

The core of the controversy is that Doosan Energy reflected the loss of overseas orders as late as possible when it suffered a liquidity crisis due to the nuclear phase-out policy during the Moon Jae-in administration.

The Financial Supervisory Service is reviewing disciplinary action following putting this on the supervisory committee agenda.

However, Doosan Energy’s position is that the Financial Supervisory Service’s criticism is unfounded.

Doosan Energy said, “According to the results of discussions with the ordering party, accounting was completed in accordance with accounting principles at the time the profit or loss was confirmed.”

He then emphasized, “I cannot agree with the Financial Supervisory Service’s comments,” and added, “I will actively explain this at the Supervisory Committee that is currently in progress.”
