On the 2nd, Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon asked back, “Is it funny that the public party is protecting bribery crimes?”

On his way to work at the Gwacheon Government Complex that afternoon, Minister Han said, “I really like humor, but did the people really laugh when they saw this?” .

Previously, Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, Supreme Council member Jeong Cheong-rae, Kim Seong-hwan, and Kim Nam-guk sarcastically said a minister who said, “The sound of the rustling of money envelopes is recorded” before the Supreme Council meeting was closed to the public on the 30th of last month.

Minister Han explained the reason for requesting consent to the arrest at a plenary session of the National Assembly on the 28th of last month, saying, “In this case, there is a file that records the scene where Rep. Roh received the request and received the money.” It is done,” he said.

When Rep. Nam-guk Kim said, “I will make the meeting private after everyone has finished speaking,” Lee said, “I keep hearing strange noises from somewhere before making it private, and it sounds like Congressman Nam-guk Kim is receiving money in an envelope.” It sounds like the sound of Rep. Kim Seong-hwan delivering an envelope of money to Rep. Kim,” said a minister sarcastically.

Prior to this, Chung Cheong-rae, the top member of the Democratic Party, said in his remarks, “It was an issue that should have been rejected, but Minister Han Dong-hoon’s mischief like a seven-year-old child made it more popular.” Regarding what the supreme council member said targeting him, he replied, “I wonder if there are any people who would be grateful that the public party is protecting the crime of bribery,” and “I want to ask which country the people represent.”

As a result of an anonymous vote at the plenary session on the 28th of last month, the motion for the arrest of Congressman Roh was rejected with 101 in favor, 161 against, and 9 abstentions out of 271 present. It is estimated that 169 seats of the Democratic Party voted against it en masse.

Rep. Roh is accused of receiving a total of 60 million won (bribery, brokerage bribery, violation of the Political Fund Act) from businessman Park Mo’s side in the name of election expenses for the 21st National Assembly from February to December 2020.
