The Fair Trade Commission saw that Tesla was exaggerating the performance of electric vehicle batteries and entered the sanctions process.
Tesla has indicated that its major car models can travel more than 528 km on a single charge, but when temperatures drop below freezing or on highways, mileage is significantly reduced.
In response, the Fair Trade Commission plans to send a review report containing opinions on sanctions, including fines, to Tesla for violating the Labeling and archyde news Act, and hold a plenary meeting soon to determine the level of sanctions.
The Fair Trade Commission is also planning to impose a fine for negligence on the charge that Tesla did not return an order fee of 100,000 won to a consumer who canceled an online vehicle purchase.
