[앵커]

A typhoon of climate change is hitting Europe this summer.

Record-breaking heatwaves and droughts continue to dry up rivers and even wildfires.

Huge flames shoot into the night sky of Moncayo, Spain, famous for its wine production.

The wildfire that started on the 13th burned half of the area of Hallasan National Park in less than a day.

[몬카요 주민 : 지금 여기 올라와서 보니 충격적이네요. 이곳은 보르하에서 가장 아름다운 곳 중이 하나인데요, 엉망이 됐습니다.]

The adjacent Moncayo National Park is also in jeopardy.

Firefighters and military personnel have started to extinguish the fire, but the high temperature and dry strong winds are reviving the embers.

More than 1,500 nearby residents have already evacuated.

The heatwave and drought will never end.

In the UK, rainfall last month was only 20% of normal.

It’s the worst since 1935.

As a result, the satellite image of the UK, which was green in June, has now turned all brown.

Germany is on the verge of bottoming out the Rhine.

The economy is taking a hit as water levels drop as low as 34 centimeters, limiting barge transport.

The water shortage in the Netherlands is so severe that it urged its citizens to reduce their shower time to 5 minutes or less.

The problem is that after such a burning and scorching summer in Europe, a cold and expensive winter awaits.

This is because gas prices are skyrocketing as Russia weaponizes its gas supply.

The EU has decided to cut gas consumption by 15% over the next eight months, but a thorny road seems inevitable.
