Russian troops have arrived in Belarus, an ally of Russia, to form an allied force.
The Belarusian Defense Ministry said the first Russian troops belonging to the Allied Regional Forces had arrived in Belarus, and that the Russian military’s mission was limited to strengthening border defenses.
Earlier on the 10th, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the two countries had agreed to deploy a combined regional force and that more than 1,000 Russian troops would be deployed.
Since the late 1990s, Russia and Belarus have been preparing for the establishment of the ‘Allied State’ and have a close relationship that is more than an alliance.
