Chinese President Xi Jinping self-reported that the high-intensity quarantine that had been implemented for nearly three years was the “correct choice” before the recent total relaxation of quarantine.
President Xi encouraged medical workers yesterday ahead of the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year’s Day), emphasizing that “strictly implementing the management of Corona 19 for three years was the correct choice,” state-run Central Television (CCTV) reported.
Xi added that through high-intensity quarantine, “it has withstood the impact of multiple virus mutations and has minimized the severity and mortality rates, vigorously protecting the lives, safety and physical health of the masses of the people.”
President Xi also emphasized, “Currently, the quarantine against Corona 19 has entered a new stage, and there are still difficult times, but there is a light shining on the road ahead.”
