It has been confirmed that a police officer who is investigating the ‘Yangpyeong Gongheung District suspicion’ involving the company of President Yoon Seok-yeol’s wife was invited to the presidential inauguration ceremony.
The government again explained that the invitation was due to the police officer’s contribution to the investigation of industrial espionage, but the controversy continues.
However, MBC obtained the suspicious remarks made by Senator Kim Seon-kyo, who was then head of Yangpyeong County, regarding the suspicion of preferential treatment in the Gongheung district.
Rep. Kim emphasized his close relationship with President Yoon, saying that he gave permission well, and that President Yoon was sorry for his mother-in-law.

March 30, after Yoon Seok-yeol was elected president.
Rep. Kim Seon-kyo of the same party attended the event for the preliminary candidate for Yangpyeong County mayor belonging to the People’s Power.
Rep. Kim, a former ‘third-term’ Yangpyeong county governor, who is also in Yangpyeong in the constituency, began to mention his acquaintance with President Yoon at this meeting.

“Tomorrow I’m going to have lunch with the president-elect. (The elected president) wants to talk to me anytime.
It is said that President Yoon had been in a relationship with himself, the governor of Yangpyeong, since the time of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office, the head of Yeoju, and suddenly he brings up the story of President Yoon’s mother-in-law.

“There was a relationship in the old days, but there was a relationship when he was the chief of the branch, but I know very well that Kim Seon-kyo suffers because of her mother-in-law, too.”
Then, President Yoon said that he was always sorry to him, and explained the reason as follows.

“When I’m alone with me, I’m like, ‘Hey, Senator Kim,’ because I was born in my 60s. ‘Hey, I’m sorry to see you, Congressman Kim’ Why? You know? Because I shake it like it’s there and do it like this.”
While referring to President Yoon’s mother-in-law, he was referring to the passage that he ‘granted permission well’ even though he was attacked by the Democratic Party.
The next day after making this remark, Rep. Kim had lunch with then-elect Yoon, along with some members of the People’s Strength of the People, as stated in his remarks.
The core of the suspicion of the Gongheung District is that the Yangpyeong County Office did not take issue with it for nearly two years, and the extension of the authorization was also retroactively processed after the wife of President Yoon built the project under an unlicensed state since November 2014, when the company’s business deadline expired.
Among the apartment development projects in Yangpyeong-gun for the past 10 years, the only thing that is controversial is that the wife of President Yoon did not pay a development fee only to the company.

“(Rep. Kim Seon-kyo) was in a situation where he confessed that he gave preference to licensing in his improvised remarks.”
Regarding his remarks, Rep. Kim explained in a phone call with MBC, “During the military service, President Yoon’s wife actively granted permission not only to the company but also to legitimate development projects.”
He also said that the allegations of preferential treatment in the Gongheung district were handled by the working-level staff.

“When the extension application came in (from the wife’s company), more than 80% of the building had already been built, so I know that it was delivered. There was no report to me, and I don’t know the development fee…”
It has been confirmed that the police, who are investigating the case for the ninth month, have not yet proceeded with the summons investigation of Rep. Kim Seon-kyo.
