[사회]5 safe countries for ‘traveling alone by women’… Including Rwanda, not Korea

A spring day when you want to go somewhere.

There are many people who dream of traveling alone, traveling alone, right?

However, if you are a woman, you may be a little worried about traveling abroad alone.

The British BBC picked Slovenia, Rwanda, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Japan and Norway as the best countries for women to travel alone.

It was selected in consideration of Georgetown University’s ‘Women’s Stability Index’ and the World Economic Forum’s ‘Gender Gap Report’.

First of all, Slovenia has a high female stability index, with 85% of local women saying they “feel safe”.

One traveler shared his experience of wandering the streets alone at night in Slovenia, and revealed that it was fun and not dangerous.

In addition, he added, “It is a walkable city, public transportation is stable, and it is convenient because it is connected to every corner.”

Interestingly, Rwanda in Africa.

It is easy to think that women’s rights are lagging behind in Africa, but Rwanda is the world’s first country in terms of gender equality, with 55% of the parliament being female.

It also ranked sixth in the Global Gender Gap Index, which measures how equal countries are in the economy, education, health care and political participation.

Almost everywhere in Rwanda, there are police and military patrols day and night, always kindly helping out.

The UAE in the Middle East scored highest for women’s education and financial inclusion.

98.5% of women over the age of 15 said they “feel safe walking alone at night where they live”, ranking highest on the Community Safety category index.

One travel influencer said they didn’t have to worry about theft or safety issues: “When the tire punctured, I left my keys in the car in the middle of the desert.”

In Asia, Japan was selected.

Japan has been selected as one of the ’10 safest countries in the world’ by the ‘World Peace Index’ because of its extremely low violent crime rate and low internal and external conflicts.

In addition, along with the women-only subway, there are well-equipped accommodations for women-only travelers.

There are many things that can be enjoyed alone as well as meals for one person commonly called ‘honbap’, so it is evaluated that it is perfect for ‘traveling alone’.

Finally, the BBC ranks Norway consistently among the top 10 most sexually equal and happiest countries in the world.

It also ranked first in terms of financial inclusion for women and community safety for women.

Described as a good destination for all types of travelers, including solo travelers.

It’s a bit disappointing that Korea, where it’s okay to leave your laptop on the table at a cafe and go to the bathroom, isn’t on the list.

Korea ranked 99th out of 146 countries in the World Economic Forum’s Gender Gap Index last year, and was only ranked 115th in the area of economic participation opportunities.
