It was around 4:20 pm when the live ammunition was found at Incheon International Airport.

There was a bullet for a rifle in the trash can on the 3rd floor of Terminal 1.

An environmental sanitation worker found it while sorting out trash cans, and a report was then filed with the police.

However, the place where the live ammunition was located was not a security area to enter after the search, but a place where anyone could enter.

Police were dispatched and searched the area, but no additional live ammunition was found.

Earlier on the 10th, two live ammunition for pistols were found at Incheon International Airport.

A passenger found live ammunition inside a Korean Air passenger plane bound for Manila, Philippines, which was preparing for takeoff.

At the time, even Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong came out and expressed regret, saying that it was an obvious security accident, and pledged to strengthen security.

This time, it’s not in a security area or inside an airplane, but as another live ammunition is found at the airport in just six days, anxiety is inevitable.

The police believe that the ammunition holders are not the same person in that the types of bullets are different.

At the same time as tracking the holder through securing airport CCTV and precise identification, we plan to focus on confirming how the live ammunition came to be.
