11 years after the humidifier sterilizer disaster, the final draft containing compensation and compensation for the victims came out, but it was in danger of being canceled as some companies opposed it.
The recovery process is not expected to be smooth, as there are not a few victims who express their dissatisfaction with the final plan.

At the end of last month, after 11 years of the disaster, a final mediation plan between the company and the victim came out, but some companies rejected it, so they condemned it.
“I condemn Aekyung, a company that kills humidifier disinfectants!”
Of the nine companies that made and sold humidifier disinfectants, two companies, including Oxy Reckitt Benckiser and Aekyung Industrial, rejected the final proposal.
Of the 4,200 people who have been recognized for damage, 86% of those who used Oxy products and 27% of Aekyung were victims of the two companies, taking first and second places, respectively.

The final draft, which came out after six months, includes the payment of 200 million to 400 million won to the family of the deceased and up to 500 million won to the victims.
The total amount of the subsidy is about 920 billion won, with Oxy sharing more than half and Aekyung sharing tens of billions of won.
However, it is reported that the two companies have already paid hundreds of billions of won to the victims, making it difficult to incur additional costs.
If even one of the nine companies rejects the final proposal, it will not be implemented.

It is reported that more than half of the 7,000 victims expressed their opposition to the final bill.
The average subsidy per victim is only about 120 million won, which is not enough to compensate for the damage suffered for nearly 10 years.

In a situation in which the law containing measures for compensation and compensation for disaster victims remains in the National Assembly, the only place to resolve the problem is the Damage Compensation Mediation Committee, a private organization.
In fact, after the final draft was canceled, opinions of dissolution were raised within the committee, but it is said that they decided to persuade the companies that expressed their will to reject it again.
The Mediation Committee is expected to announce the results of the mediation at a public meeting early next week.
