21 people who were directly at fault in the collapse or were involved in illegal subcontracting are on trial.
Among them, three Hyundai Development Company, including the site director, two subcontractors, and one site supervisor were arrested.
However, the contractor and the subcontractor who have been handed over to trial are passing responsibility to each other.
The point at which the new apartment collapse accident occurred was only 15 days before the Severe Disaster Punishment Act was implemented.
Because of this, HDC Hyundai Development Company, the construction company, was able to avoid the punishment of the business owner.
