On the 15th, Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung said, “After careful consideration, the Democratic Party has decided to accept the (budget bill) mediation proposal by respecting the will of the National Assembly speaker in terms of a win.”

Representative Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly this afternoon and said this. Representative Lee said, “Although the National Assembly Speaker’s arbitration proposal does not coincide with the will of the Democratic Party, this decision was made in consideration of the difficult economic situation.”

Representative Lee said, “I hope that the budget negotiations can be concluded by today, and the budget consultation can be completed by tomorrow at the latest,” and “(the government and the ruling party) ask you to think well from the people’s point of view.”

Representative Lee said, “Along with the budget bill, we must start a government investigation into the Itaewon disaster in earnest,” and added, “Tomorrow is already the 49th disaster. We must no longer turn a blind eye to the cries of the bereaved family demanding a fact-finding investigation without sanctuary.” He said, “Now, the National Assembly must immediately launch a state affairs investigation to find out the truth and establish measures to prevent a recurrence.”

Previously, National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo met Ho-young Joo and Democratic Party floor leader Park Hong-geun on the morning of the same day and said, “I hope that the highest corporate tax rate will be reduced by even 1 percentage point to accelerate foreign direct investment seeking investment in the recent global supply chain reorganization process. I wish,” he said. “The issues surrounding the budgets for the police department of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the personnel information management team of the Ministry of Justice, established by presidential decree, have not been narrowed down, so a comprehensive agreement has not been reached,” he said. We propose to include it as a side opinion so that it can be spent as a reserve until the competent authorities make a decision on whether or not it is legal,” he said.

Chairman Kim said, “As the chairman, I present the final adjustment plan to the two of you,” and asked, “Please seriously review it and observe the deadline for today’s agreement.”
