According to Archyde.com and CNN, Russian forces bombed the Mariupol Theater and swimming pool facilities where civilians were evacuated.
It is known that more than hundreds of civilians were evacuated at the shelter, but the exact number of dead and injured remains unknown because the search operation did not proceed properly as the building entrance completely collapsed.
CNN pointed out that the word ‘children’ was clearly written on the road outside the shelter, and that it was impossible to bomb by mistake.

The Guardian reported that there were many patients and children in the theater used as an evacuation shelter.
A swimming pool about 4 kilometers from the Mariupol Theater was also targeted. An official from the Mariupol City Council said that the swimming pool used as an evacuation shelter was mainly evacuated by pregnant women and women with children under the age of three.
However, CNN reported that it has not yet been confirmed whether the official’s allegations are true.
Russia has denied allegations of bombing civilians.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense claimed that the bombing of the shelter was not the Russian military but Azov Batalion of Ukraine, considered a neo-Nazi force, according to Russian news agency Rianovosti.
