“A bomb was dropped on the barracks where more than 200 people were sleeping, and at least 50 bodies were recovered,” Ukrainian soldier Maxim, 22, told AFP.
“Rescue operations are continuing from the rubble of the collapsed building, and it is difficult to estimate how many casualties will occur in the future,” he added.
Another local military estimated that at least 100 people would be killed in the bombing.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said airstrikes had been carried out on ammunition depots and military equipment warehouses on the outskirts of Mykolayu and Voznesensk.
