Had it been a little late, I could have died from hypothermia.

Since last month, there have been over 190 mountain accidents in Gangwon Province alone.

Mountain accidents have occurred over 32,000 nationwide in the past three years. By month, October, the season of autumn leaves, had the highest percentage at 14%.

When looking at the type of accident, distress was the most frequent, followed by tripping and falling, personal illness, and exhaustion.

To prevent mountain accidents, it is recommended to use a designated hiking path suitable for one’s physical strength and come down from the mountain one to two hours before sunset.

Also, be careful when stepping on a rock covered with fallen leaves or moss as it may slip.

In particular, you should avoid climbing the mountain alone, and emergency food and portable light are essential in case of any disaster.
