The triangular cooperation on the denuclearization of North Korea is expected to be heavily discussed in the Korea-U.S.-Japan summit to be held after the first NATO summit in four years and nine months tomorrow (29th).
It is also noteworthy whether measures to strengthen economic and security cooperation among the three countries, such as global supply chains and economic solidarity, will be sought.

The leaders of South Korea, the United States and Japan are highly likely to reaffirm the triangular cooperation for the denuclearization of North Korea at this summit.
It is expected that the NATO summit will take advantage of the international stage as an opportunity to focus on highlighting the urgency of the North Korean nuclear issue and the three countries’ will to respond to North Korea.

At the same time, it seems that he will repeatedly urge North Korea to come out as a forum for dialogue.
Along with strengthening cooperation with North Korea, regional economic and security cooperation is also expected to be a major agenda item for the trilateral summit.
Along with global supply chain cooperation, the US-led Indo-Pacific economic framework and economic security issues related to IPEF are mentioned as key agenda items.
It is of interest whether the U.S. will actively request efforts to improve Korea-Japan relations in order to strengthen Korea-US-Japan cooperation with this meeting as an opportunity.
However, as the expected duration of the talks is about 30 minutes, there are also observations that it could be a symbolic meeting that reinforces the will of South Korea, the US and Japan to cooperate rather than a specific cooperation plan.
