The Brazilian Horned Toad (Ceratophrys cornuta), also called Horned Frog, is a species of frog in the Ceratophryidae family.
Description
This amphibian can reach 7 to 15 cm in length, and has a stocky appearance, with a wide and rounded body (A rounding of a number is an approximate value of this number obtained, from its…). Males are brown, yellow (There are (at least) five definitions of yellow which designate roughly the same…) or green (Green is a complementary color corresponding to light which has a wavelength… .). They can present these colors simultaneously, while females are generally uniformly brown (Bartlett & Bartlett, 2003), and the latter are generally larger than males. The belly is gray. The legs are relatively short. A characteristic of this species is the presence of small “horns” above the eyes, to which it owes its name.
Habitat
This frog lives on the ground of the tropical rainforests of America (America is a continent separated, to the west, from Asia and…) of the South (The south is a cardinal point, opposite the north. ), near lakes and rivers.
Distribution
This species is found in the Amazon basin up to 400 m altitude:
- to the west of Brazil,
- in the north (North is a cardinal point, opposite the south.) of Bolivia,

- east of the equator,
- in the southeast of Colombia,
- in the south of Venezuela,
- in Guyana,
