（ＣＮＮ） Police in Miami Beach, Fla., said one person was killed and another injured in a shooting at a beachfront intersection on Sunday night.
Police tweeted that they received a call regarding 10:40 p.m. when they heard gunshots near an intersection just meters from the beach. When police arrived, they found two men who had been shot.
Two people were taken to hospital, one of whom died and the other in critical condition.
The scene is the South Beach area where tourists gather. The school was on spring break, and the day was also the Christian holiday “St.
According to police, one man has been detained and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Four guns were recovered from the scene.
Authorities believe it was an isolated incident.
Miami Beach officials imposed a curfew from midnight Thursdays to 6 a.m. Sundays last year following two shootings occurred during spring break. There are no restrictions this year.
