A 38-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend in Stow is being held on a $1 million cash bond. Pierre Wade faced an arraignment in Stow Municipal Court on Nov. 6, following a murder charge filed in connection with the death of 36-year-old Larretta Allison, according to Clerk of Court Nicole Kowalski.
The investigation into the shooting began on Oct. 28, when officers from the Stow Police Department arrived at a residence in the 4000 block of Vira Road. Chief Heather Prusha stated that police were initially called to the property to assist a landlord with an eviction process. While at the scene, relatives of the tenant arrived, expressing concern that they had been unable to contact their loved one. Upon entering the home, officers discovered Allison, who had been shot to death.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Allison sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m. Chief Prusha noted that investigators believe the victim had been deceased for a couple of days before she was found. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is currently assisting the Stow Police Department with the ongoing inquiry.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Authorities apprehended Wade in Cleveland after a coordinated effort involving the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office. According to a news release from the Stow Police Department, Wade was initially taken into custody on an unrelated failure to appear warrant. During the arrest, officers recovered a handgun from his vehicle.
Court records indicate that Wade had previously been arrested in July for driving under suspension and failed to appear for subsequent court dates, which led to the warrant. At the time of that July arrest, records showed he was living in Akron, though police identified him as having been living at the same Vira Road address as Allison at the time of her death.
In addition to the current murder charge, the judicial process is moving forward as the case proceeds through the Stow Municipal Court. The $1 million bond reflects the gravity of the felony murder charge now facing the defendant.
Family Launches Fundraiser After Fatal Domestic Violence
Larretta Allison, who was 36, leaves behind two young children. Her family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and provide for her children’s future, setting a donation goal of $15,000. In their public statement, family members described the incident as a tragic act of domestic violence.
“Yesterday, our lives were forever changed by a tragedy that no family, friend, or child should ever have to experience,” the family wrote in the fundraiser description. “Our beautiful Rett was brutally taken from this world in the one place she should have felt safe — her own home. The most heartbreaking part of this tragedy is that her two young children are now left without their mother.”
The family emphasized that they are seeking community support to ensure they do not face the financial burden of the tragedy alone, while also ensuring the children receive necessary care in the coming years. Further coverage of the case has been documented by the Akron Beacon Journal, which has reported on the ongoing investigation and the community’s reaction to the loss.
